Motherhood… What does the Woman sacrifice for the sake of her child’s wellbeing? We can say she is losing herself. I can say she is losing her face…

I have found a pebble on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea and the drawing on its surface amazed me of what I have seen there. I just literarily copied the drawing and enhanced it in details and color. It happened about one year before I got pregnant with my daughter. That pebble had a deep meaning for me and I kept it with me for years.

My daughter Laura. She is always dreaming, and always busy with her own thoughts and imagination. I’ve tried to depict not only her visual appearance but also her insight state of her mind.
I used realistic elements along with geometrical, to create a dynamic movement around her face. Bold and vibrant colors are used towards the darker background.

The portrait of my daughter’s friend Isabel. Isabel is absolutely wonderful girl, with a pure and kind heart, always ready to help and support. The same as with Laura’s portrait, I’ve tried to depict not only Isabel’s visual appearance but also her insight beauty, state of mind, and unique personality.

This is a weird time… A lot of feelings, questions, and emotions…
This work is painted in the form of a self-portrait. I used realistic elements along with geometrical, added glass beads to compliment both eyes and necklace, and to enhance the expression.

Love of A Stranger
acrylic on canvas, 2018, 24”x18”

As humans, we are entitled to love, even at this weird time.
Being a woman, I look deep into myself, I continue to explore the mystery of female nature.

Sometimes we feel the energy of love but we don’t know where it is coming from... Then fantasy and imagination start to work. I don’t know the person really. I can only guess and imagine...
